Who we are

RGS Carpentry is a carpentry and joinery business operating in Surrey, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 we are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

If you use the design-visit form we collect your name, phone number, and email address if you give one, along with the details of the job: the type of work, your town, your rough budget band, your timescale, and anything you write in the notes field.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party embeds on this site. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Why we collect it

Solely to answer your enquiry, arrange a visit, and if you go ahead, to carry out and invoice the work. The lawful basis is your consent when you submit the form, and thereafter the performance of a contract.

We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Who else sees it

Enquiry emails are delivered by Resend, our email provider, and are stored in our email account. Our website is hosted by Vercel. Both process data on our instructions. Beyond that, your details are not shared with third parties except where we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within 12 months. Records relating to completed work are kept for six years, which is what UK tax and contract-limitation rules require.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Write to us and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
